My philosophy is all about taking a client-centric approach. It’s not about me imposing my design style/will on you the client, but rather using my expertise to make your design goals come alive as beautifully as possible. (After all, I won’t be living there; you will!) I give you “homework” early on so we can collectively arrive at a look and feel to guide the design choices. That homework can be anything from Houzz images and Pinterest boards to pages you’ve pulled out of design magazines. I spend a good deal of time asking questions about your selections—function, styles, colors, mood—which help articulate your design needs. Clients often don’t have the design vocabulary to communicate their intent; I see that as my job to translate. This method of teasing out input works infinitely better than a written questionnaire (which feels too detached) and instead invites you to be intimately invested in the process. Accomplished and award-winning, Sabrina Alfin created her studio in 2011. With her keen project management, collaboration, and leadership skills honed by hundreds of deadline-driven client engagements in her former role as an advertising executive, she brings to her Bay Area design practice an ability to see and explain the big picture, to guide clients through a complex process, and to deliver on the details.  As a former colleague once quipped, “If you want to get something done and done right, call Sabrina.”

Sabrina is a Certified Interior Designer in California, #6859, and currently resides in San Francisco with her husband Jim, enjoying city life in their recently empty nest.

How it's done

Sabrina Alfin Interiors (SAI) has a flexible design team business model that puts together the right people at the right time while collaborating both in-person and remotely.  With most design, collaboration, and administrative software “in the cloud”, design and admin teams can be more efficient, travel less, and work together on an as-needed basis.  As the Principal Designer, Sabrina will always be the main point of client contact, the creator of the design vision, and the chief project manager, but she'll supervise specialists and back-end administrative help to manage workflow and complete deliverables, as required.  

The benefit to clients in working this way is this:  by operating from our respective home bases and using the SF Design Center and other to-the-trade showrooms as hubs for sourcing and samples, SAI has substantially less overhead for office space and staff. Simply put, clients can expect lower design and consultation fees vs. design firms with permanent locations and teams.  Greater flexibility for us, and more manageable costs for you.
